this past weekend I visited the Architectural Digest Home Design show in NYC- it inspired me to create this home decor treasury.

a friend of mine from high school just reached out to me to tell me about her new kickstarter project entitled project: penpal- the goal of the project is “to recreate the spark we felt receiving our first piece of mail- addressed to us, stamp and all.” and “to establish connections between people- in a new (but actually old) way.” funding from Jen’s kickstarter will be used to develop the project: penpal website, where users will be able to find a penpal, post photos and share mail/package ideas, and connect with international students through a mentor exchange.
as a lover of snail mail, I’m so glad Jen shared her kickstarter with me- backing starts at just $2 so if you enjoy the art of mail as well, please go check out her site and get involved!
check out the project: penpal kickstarter by following this link.

earlier this month, my partner and I headed out to the Valley Green Inn + Wissahickon Valley Park with Carolyn and John, two locals who have had many great memories in the park, making it a great location for their engagement session. as we walked around, they told us all kinds of stories associated with different locations. in all, it was a beautiful day and it was great fun watching them warm up in front of the camera. we’re looking forward to their nuptials in April! want to see more photos from the shoot? check Carolyn and John out on my flickr.

hey all!
it’s been a while since an update, including etsy treasuries- I’ve missed two in a row
my apologies- the past few weeks have been a whirlwind- I did a post-Valentine’s show at 30th Street Station, threw a baby shower for a co-worker, celebrated two of my close friends getting engaged, traveled to West Virginia twice, shot an engagement session, cranked out new spring prints in the studio, snowboarded in Colorado, and celebrated my birthday yesterday- whew! after that recap, i can understand how the middle of March crept up on me.
at the 30th Street Craft Market, I debuted my new magnets and magnet sets, as well as my new greeting card display:
i will have all of the above products at any upcoming spring shows (you can see the updated schedule in the upper right hand corner of this blog) as well as my *new* spring floral art prints and cards! right now i have two original patterned designs- pansies and lily of the valley:
you can check out the greeting card versions on my etsy: pansies and lily of the valley.
in early February, Nick and I dusted off the snowboard rust and headed to West Virginia. it was great to visit my family and enjoy the snow all in one weekend! we stayed at Canaan Valley Resort, where they were enjoying the best snow they’d had all season.
then, a month later, we trekked out to Colorado with a big group and hit the slopes. up until that point, I’d never been on a mountain so big! it was beautiful and mildly terrifying. here is Nick resting, waiting for me to finish taking the photo:
after a fun (and tiring) long weekend out West, we headed home. I barely had time to unpack my suitcase before I hit the road again- this time to southern West Virginia to attend a weekend-long zine workshop with one of my favorite illustrators and makers, Kate Bingaman-Burt. it was an awesome way to spend my birthday weekend- meeting other young printmakers, seeing a new town, and making fun zines. I’m excited to write a post about all that we did; in the mean time, here’s a pic of the class with Kate:
anyhow, that’s the quick recap! now that I’m home for a bit, I’m working on upcoming posts about the workshop, the engagement session I did earlier in the month, the upcoming spring shows, and more! so keep an eye out. also, one more big piece of news: I got a new day job! I start this week and am over-the-moon excited to be leaving my retail position and working in a print-related position! the hours are great and will allow me to spend more time in the studio than before. while I will miss my coworkers immensely, this really is the best next step for me.
