“one night stand” at main line art center.

Back on a Friday evening in May, I was a first time participant in Main Line Art Center’s annual “One Night Stand” event. They held it in conjunction with their Young Friends Cookout- basically, a handful of local artists between the ages of 21-35, set up shop for three hours in their expansive front gallery space. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it ended up being a really nice event; the facility is beautiful, the volunteers were helpful, and there was an abundance of talent! This is my little setup- since the event was a little more fine art oriented, I got to show some framed pieces that I rarely bring to craft fairs.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure whose work this is- if anyone knows, let me know and I’d love to credit them! It is really nice though, right?

Love these skull masks by Emily B. Snedden Yates! It was so cool to meet her- turns out we have a ceramicist friend in common- I went to undergrad with him, she went to grad school with him. Small world!

Huey and the Banjo provided tunes for the evening.

I got to meet Gillian Pokalo, another local printmaker who is also the resident print teach at the Main Line Art Center. Although we talked shop for a while, I didn’t get any photos of her setup! So here’s an image I borrowed from her etsy shop PokaloPrint Studio- be sure to check it out! She blends silkscreen and monoprint techniques to create one-of-a-kind works.
