As you know, Hurricane Sandy paid the East Coast a visit earlier this week and essentially ravaged the Jersey shore, parts of NYC, and more. Yesterday, a friend and I were talking about ways to help with the relief effort. Honestly, I was at a loss- I don’t know how to drive a dozer and I certainly can’t build a house. What I can do is print- so I’ve launched a small fundraising campaign to raise funds to ultimately donate to a charity of my customers’ choosing! It kicked off last night and I’m planning to keep it going until at least the end of the month, or as long as there’s people interested in donating.

I’m selling three different items with the same design- each item is for whatever donation price point you’re comfortable with:

5″ x 7″ silkscreen prints on colorful cardstock- perfect for framing or using as stationery. $2 from every purchase goes directly to charity!

14″ x 14″ hand printed tote bags- $5 of every purchase goes directly to charity!

Hand printed tee shirts- $10 of every purchase goes directly to charity!

. . . so now you’re saying- what charity? Well, it’s up to you! Check out my public exit343design facebook page to VOTE on what charity (or charities, depending on how much is raised) you’d like to support. If you don’t see one you support, do some research and add your own.

I will be selling tote bags and silkscreen prints at this weekend’s Clover Market in Ardmore! Otherwise, totes and tees will be made to order if purchased through the exit343design etsy storefront. The first batch will be printed and shipped the week of November 12, 2012.

Thanks for your support!

it’s about time i showed off these custom wedding reception invitations and thank you cards i designed and printed for amy + dennis! way back in the beginning of the year, the couple contacted me about creating custom thank you cards after they got engaged. we bounced some ideas back and forth and settled upon this birch tree design:

it was fun working with them, but i kind of figured that would be the end of the project. i was so honored when they asked me to design their reception invitations, and later, their post-reception thank you cards!

the couple eloped in NYC in June, but were holding two separate “reception” celebrations- one in NYC for his family, one in Milwaukee for hers. therefore, the front of the invite reads the same for everyone- it tells the story of their meeting and falling in love:

the back shows the details for each respective celebration event:

the invite is printed on French Paper’s Speckletone: Old Green and the envelopes are French Paper’s Pop-Tone: Blu Raspberry.

i created the thank you cards to coordinate with their invites- simple, with some of the same design elements and color scheme.

i’m so pleased with the results! anyhow, i’ve always been open to custom jobs, but as of this week i’ve officially dedicated a section to custom work on my etsy storefront. if you’re interested in any custom job, stationery or otherwise, i’d love to work with you! email me at exit343@gmail.com for info and a price quote.

hey all! lots of new things coming down the pipeline for the spring- i’m still applying to shows, but i do have a few coming up very soon- and you can always check out what’s new on the right hand side of the page. first up-

this will be my first time participating at the Go West! Craft Fest, put on by VIX Emporium (where I also have some of my wares in stock). this year they’ve shifted the venue to The Woodlands at 4000 Woodland Ave. in West Philadelphia. apparently, it’s a home to a historic mansion and cemetery as well- so come out for mix of art and history. the show is a one day thing on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 11-5pm.

. . . then, directly following the craft fest, my friend and fellow printmaker Bryan Schulthorpe of Yardsale Press and I will be having an opening for our joint show at Nice Things . . . Handmade  on East Passyunk! it will feature a selection of new silkscreen prints from both of us, as well as some of our older work. so please join us on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 6-10pm at 1731 East Passyunk, Philadelphia, PA 19148. (we’ll have snacks and drinks, too!) thanks so much to Elissa for this wonderful opportunity 🙂

the following weekend, i’ll be heading south to participate for the first time in Chattanooga, Tennessee’s Chatty Crafty! i met organizer Lynda Buckels when i vended at the Indie Craft Experience in Atlanta last year and she was very persuasive 🙂 the show is at The Chattanooga Green at Ross’ Landing on both Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22 from 10-6pm daily. i’m headed down a little early to check out the area, so if anyone has any tips or recommendations for the area, let me know!

in may, i’ll be a returning vendor to the Philadelphia institution known as the Art Star Craft Bazaar! this is one of my favorite events each year- so many talented artists in one place 🙂 this year’s show is still at The Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing on both Saturday, May 12th and Sunday, May 13th from 11-6pm. here’s hoping for sunshine and blue skies!

since this spring will be a busy one, i’ve been plugging away at some new work. here’s a preview of some new prints/product i have- even if you don’t make it to a show, they’re always for sale in my exit343design etsy store🙂

last weekend was my birthday (goodbye 25, helloooo 26) and my boyfriend took me up to vermont for the weekend to escape the st. patty’s madness (did i mention my bday is the 17th?) and attempt to snowboard in the unseasonably warm weather.

well, we did manage to hit the slopes on saturday, although it was a struggle, what with everything melting in the sun . . . it was fun though, and the views were beautiful. thus far, mount snow is the largest mountain i’ve boarded.

it was a great weekend of sun, snow, and delicious food 🙂 before we headed home on sunday, we took a slight detour to check out the Brattleboro area. on the way, we hit up some clearance sales at snow sports stores in Dover, like Invasion Board Shop. we also happened upon some awesome antiques stores- i picked up a mini picnic basket for show displays at Tallulahs Antiques and we found a fun gift for his friend at Twice Upon a Time. we also picked up some delicious food to cook with . . . which leads me to my last few updates. i’ve added more links to my social networking repertoire. you can now:
