Hello friends and followers! I’ve been M.I.A for quite a while now, but for good reason- I’ve been hitting the studio hard getting ready for the upcoming holiday shopping season! (see the side bar on the right for my schedule this season) Additionally, an exciting last-minute opportunity came my way this month and I decided to go ahead and seize it; I’m so pleased to announce that exit343design now has a permanent brick + mortar presence in the Serendipity Shops of Avalon in Avalon, New Jersey! This space differs from other retailers I work with in that this is actually my own little space that I manage and maintain on my own. Last night, I trekked down to install just in time for their big Black Friday sales event that’s coming up quickly. The store is open 10-5 until January, weekends from January-March, and 10-10pm every day during the spring/summer season. So please, if you’re in the area, stop in and see what’s happening! A big thank you to Nicole and Barbara for this wonderful opportunity!

Check out Serendipity Shops of Avalon on Facebook for the most up-to-date hours and events!

Check it out- a whole row of Christmas cards, including three new styles coming to the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market with me this weekend!

Sunday stressed-out Stephanie with no makeup- so glad to have gotten this all together in such a short amount of time!

exit343design scoutmob shoppe hello! I have some exciting news to kick off 2014- I have partnered with designer-curating website Scoutmob.com to sell some of my popular shirt designs on different colored tees 🙂 this partnership has been in the works for a couple of months, so I’m particularly excited to finally be able to announce it. Scoutmob is AWESOME– it basically brings the best of Etsy to your email inbox daily, with everything being sold to you at a discount. I purchased a whole bunch of great holiday gifts from them in 2013 at some stellar prices. Another great thing about Scoutmob? they’re really kind to their customers and vendors; they are more focused on showing off the craft in each item, rather than being your standard “daily deal” site ala Groupon or Fab.

the last three months have been a whirlwind.

in October, I went to Paper Camp in DC to learn about NSS and wholesaling my work. I went to West Virginia to spend time with my aunt and work on our family genealogy. I went to a friend’s wedding and helped another set of friends document their engagement. I vended at Clover Market in Ardmore. I made new work to sell for the holiday season. I spent a day in front of the camera with my photo partner Gary to take some promotional shots of me in my studio.

in November, I vended again at the Clover Market. I did a photoshoot with Yardsale Press. I designed some custom save the dates for two sets of friends. I drove to Providence, Rhode Island to be a first time vendor at Craftopia. I drove to Columbus, Ohio to hang with some Pittsburgh maker friends and vend at Columbus Craftacular. I spent two weeks in West Virginia with my family watching my aunt die from cancer. My laptop died the next day. I watched my best friend select her wedding dress for her impending nuptials and celebrated with our closest friends.

in December, I drove to Pittsburgh to vend at Handmade Arcade and drove home in a snowstorm. I met David Bazan at Chubby’s in Roxborough, then watched him play an intimate show at an apartment in Manayunk.

I found out at the eleventh hour I was photographing the wedding of Katie and Kevin in Blue Bell, PA.

The next day, I drove to Columbia, South Carolina in a rain storm to vend at Crafty Feast. I shipped over 100 Etsy orders in a month thanks to my favorite postman John. I spent a weekend with the ladies of Art Star as a vendor at Winterfest, a pop-up garden and shop at the Blue Cross River Rink. I tailgated for the Eagles despite my hatred of football. I spent the holiday with family in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

. . . and now, here it is the weekend before the new year, and I’m not going to lie- it’s an amazing feeling to be able to sit down and reflect on the craziness I just lived in the final quarter of 2013. I have so many planned posts coming up the in the next month- highlights of the shows I vended at, weddings I shot in 2013, upcoming sales and new products, treasury tuesdays, and more!

thank YOU for making 2013 a great year for exit343design- see you in 2014!

i want to make buttons!

friends! as of Sunday, i officially launched my indiegogo.com campaign to raise money to buy a 1.5″ round button maker, paper punch, and hopefully some start-up supplies. what is indiegogo? check out a faq right here!

as you make now, i’ve been wanting to get a button maker for some time now . . . after the success of my dogs and cats button and magnet sets, the urge is stronger than ever! i think it would be a great expansion of my exit343design business (more designs and the opportunity to take custom button orders!) but the money is not in the cards between my ever-climbing student loan debt (6.8% and 7.9% interest rates?! get real, federal government . . .) and everyday life expenses.

don’t think you won’t be rewarded for your contribution- there are all kinds of incentives for every budget! incentives include fun things like a hand-written thank you note, custom buttons or magnets, an exit343design tote bag, and a gift certificate to my etsy storefront!

even if you don’t want to contribute, just visiting my page increases the hit count puts my campaign on the indiegogo radar so that they’ll help me promote it. so please visit the site, even if it’s for a hot second!

a *big* thank you in advance! over the course of the month, i’ll be posting more about the incentives like the tote bag and random button designs.
