hey all! if you’ve been on the blog lately, you may have noticed that my “upcoming shows” column has been growing slowly. my fall season is three weekends of shows beginning next weekend!

Saturday, September 29: The second installment of the thrice-yearly event sponsored by West Philly’s own VIX Emporium! Held at The Woodlands Historic Mansion/Cemetery/Landscape in West Philadelphia, this festive family friendly event is happening from 11-5pm. There will be over 50 art/craft vendors, as well as food and a packed entertainment schedule. Check out this neat Pinterest board featuring work by all the creative vendors who will be in attendance!

Saturday, October 6 + Sunday, October 7: I will be a first time vendor at Philadelphia’s annual Old City Seaport Festival at the Independence Seaport Museum on Penn’s Landing. You do need to purchase a ticket to attend, however your ticket includes admission to the museum, historic ships, craft area, entertainment areas, and deck tours of the Tall Ships. They will have food trucks and a beer garden located on the second floor deck of the museum, as well as river tours throughout the day. They have a whole schedule listed for each day that you can check out by clicking on this link. I attended this event years ago as a kid and I really enjoyed; it something that is definitely unique to the east coast. Anyhow, I’ll be there both days from 10-5- hope to see some of you there!

Sunday, October 14: I will be a returning vendor at Ardmore’s popular Clover Market! I was sad to miss the fall season kick-off date in September, but it only makes me more prepared for October’s market 🙂 This “modern flea market” is one you surely don’t want to miss- Janet Long’s suburban creation has gained press and notoriety in the past few months. The market is located in the parking lot at 12 E. Lancaster Ave. and is open from 10am – 5pm, rain or shine. Check out the website for detailed maps, where to park, and more! There’s even a comprehensive Pinterest board showcasing all of the artists who will be vending during the fall season.

Hope to see you this fall season! I will be showcasing a couple new prints, many new greetings cards, and even a new shirt design! Woo hoo!

a while back, i was posed the question: if i had to write a travel guide about Philadelphia, what places would I include? as a lifetime resident of the Philadelphia area, i surprised myself by not being able to answer right off the bat. while i have favorite museums, spaces, and restaurants, i think one of the best aspects of the city is the plethora of cultural activities. if you follow my blog, i post about the art and craft shows i do in the area on the regular. while i won’t be posting weekly like my etsy treasury tuesday feature, i do want to begin including information about other great Philadelphia staples.

first on tap: The Clay Studio‘s annual Mother’s Day clay sale. every year, this Olde City gallery/school/studio space cleans out its leftover inventory from students and teachers alike at rock-bottom prices at the First Friday prior to Mother’s Day in May. even though i’m a printmaker, i am a total sucker for pottery and have a growing collection of pieces, in part due to this great fundraiser. check out what i came away with this year- my total tab was $25!
